Relationship between Japanese speech intelligibility under noisy conditions and objective intelligibility indicators Yosuke Kobayashi (Muroran-IT) EA2018-1 |

In this research, we studied the indices of an objective speech intelligibility prediction method for indoor PA systems in eight different noise environments. In particular, we investigated the optimal index focusing on short-time objective intelligibility (STOI), which is currently widely used, and its derived type. It is found that when using the indicator of speech intelligibility prediction based on mutual information (SIMI), the root mean squared error (RMSE) of the cross validation for actual operation has a prediction accuracy of 0.160. Furthermore, it is observed that the predicted value of SIMI is within the safe practical range. |
