| (in English) | This paper introduces inpainting based on low-dimensional image approximation and its applications. Specifically, low-dimensional approximation of images based on multivariate analysis is explained, and several methods based on this approximation is introduced. Although the problem of inpainting which is an ill-posed problem cannot be directly solved, it becomes possible to approximately estimate its solution based on low-dimensional image approximation using subspaces obtained by multivariate analysis. Furthermore, this paper shows new approaches of inpainting focusing on image quality assessment which has attracted wide attention in recent years. Since several applications such as super-resolution and spectral reflectance estimation can be also realized by using the above low-dimensional image approximation, their specific implementation is introduced in this paper. | |
