Prototype and Evaluation Performance of the Transmitter and Receiver with Set-Partitioning 64APSK Coded Modulation

(in English) We are researching on a set-partitioning 64APSK coded modulation for the purpose of expanding channel capacity for satellite transmission. We designed the 64APSK constellation, bit allocation applicable to the set partitioning, and the optimal error correction codes for each bit by computer simulation and confirmed that better transmission performance than other transmission methods could be achieved with the proposed method. Furthermore, we prototyped a transmitter and receiver with the designed 64APSK coded modulation and evaluated its transmission characteristics under the AWGN. In this report, we indicate that the difference in performance between computer simulation and the prototype is about 1.0 dB in the required C/N and the prototype also can achieve better transmission characteristics just like simulation results.
