A Study on DPD Configuration for Beamforming Transmitter

(in English) The unified digital predistortion (DPD) architectures for beamforming transmitters are proposed. They perform full or partial crest factor reduction (CFR), DPD, and feedback depending on the amplitude weight for beamforming. In order to compare the performances of nonlinear compensation in main-beam and out-beam directions, simulations are conducted. The results show that the unified DPD with full CFR, DPD and feedback has the best performance in the main-beam direction while the amount of nonlinear distortion in out-beam direction is higher than that before compensation. On the other hand, some of proposed DPDs have better performances in out beam direction although nonlinear distortion in the main beam direction is not completely suppressed.
