Electrogastrogram (EGG) was proposed as an objective evaluation index of functional gastric disease which has been increasing trend in recent years. However, since surface EGG tends to be contaminated by the electrical activity of other organs, it is difficult to evaluate the frequency of the gastric electric signal. Therefore, it is necessary to find suitable analyzing technique for EGG. In this report, we extracted the gastric electrical signal by using empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and calculated the frequency component. In addition, we make comparison between frequency components from the signal extracted by EMD and the signal filtered by band pass filter. From the results, it is shown that EMD has significant extraction performance on gastric electric signals. |
