Accelerator pedals which make it possible to reduce stress and fatigue of drivers are required. For this purpose, it is known that adding hysteresis in force-stroke characteristics of pedals can be effective. To develop such pedals in practice, however, trial and error approaches have been predominant for years and systematic design methods are expected. In this study, we develop a simple mathematical model that can describe Force-Stroke characteristics of an accelerator pedal with hysteresis and identify model parameters of it based on experimental data by using particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. It is shown that the identified model can approximately simulate experimental force-stroke characteristics of the pedal. |
