[Invited Talk] Congestion Control for QoS in V2X Communications for Safety and Smart Transportations

(in English) Safe and smart transportation is expected to be soon realized. One of key applications of safe transportation is Crash Warning Application (CWA). It uses V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communications which is a dedicated communication technology for V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2P (vehicle to pedestrian) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure). For V2X communications several protocols have been proposed in such as 3GPP and ETSI. This paper here briefly describes these protocols by categorizing them into infrastructure-based ones and infrastructure-less-based ones. Then, QoS issues on the protocols to achieve the communication quality requirements of CWA are described. There have been many research efforts to improve the communication quality even in a congested condition of vehicle traffic. Some approaches to solve the issues are discussed and open questions are stated.
