This paper proposes a new transmitarray combining the frequency characteristics of three types of slot-coupled patch frequency selective surface (FSS) with diagonally arranged resonant elements. The diagonal arrangement increases the spacing between the elements and increases the freedom of the element shape. Then the lens can be constructed by several types of FSS. High performance lens can be realized by combining several types of FSS. The transmission response of the FSS is evaluated by electromagnetic field simulation software HFSS. Also, for realizing desired phase shift with a low insertion loss, dimensions of the patches and the slots are determined by parametric study. We finally design the lens by using the proposed FSS and its usefulness is confirmed by numerical results. |
