Based on lessons learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) developed a mobile earth station for WINDS, that can communicate while in moving. In the urban area, however, the mobile earth station cannot be communicated with satellite due to buildings, street trees, etc. Therefore, we estimated the shadowing area of the mobile earth station for WINDS using digital elevation data, house data, etc. To confirm the accuracy of the estimation, the estimated areas were compared with the observed data. In this paper, we report the provisional results. |
