[Special Talk] X-rays Emission Using Polarized Pyroelectric Single Crystal

(in English) The unknown points of the emission mechanism of the X-rays by changing the temperature of a pyroelectric crystal in a vacuum in the equipment made to emit X-rays was clarified. On a basis obtained knowledge acquired concerning to X-rays emission, a small X-rays source, which emit X-rays continuously and stably, was developed and fabricated. When the temperature of the pyroelectric crystal poled the direction of polarization in the low vacuum and the high vacuum was changed, the electric field intensity formed in the crystal exterior was estimated. It was shown clearly that sufficient electric field strength to ionize a gas molecule, generate an electron, accelerate the electron, and emit X-rays was formed by the crystal. The reason for which X ray intensity depends on the gas pressure and the kind of atmospheric gas in a low vacuum was clarified. The method of controlling change of the X ray intensity by the leak of gas from outside in a hermetic container was proposed based on this knowledge. When the temperature gradient of two or more crystals was made the same, it was revealed that continuous X ray emission with a small ripple is possible by giving phase difference to a temperature change.
