In this paper, we state frequency assignment methods on a satellite communications system with frequency flexibility and its application to emergency communication. Recently, research and development of High Throughput Satellite (HTS) are conducted actively and frequency flexibility is focused that can flexibly change frequency assignment according to needs. First, a configuration of the satellite communications system in this study is stated. Then, we focus on beam arrangement of HTS and we briefly state schemes and characteristics of three frequency assignment methods: uniform fixed method, nonuniform fixed method, and dynamic method. These three methods are compared in a numerical simulation of a large disaster situation. Finally, we state a new frequency assignment method: flexible channel assignment method and future works for this study. |
