System Wide Information Management (SWIM) concept is now considered for efficient and safe information sharing in the area of civil aviation. A purpose of SWIM is to realize seamless Air Traffic Management (ATM) system worldwide. In this paper, we consider wireless media for SWIM. We have been developed and studied Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communications System (AeroMACS) for next generation airport surface communication system. It is effective to share various information among air traffic controllers, pilots, and airport operators, not only on parking and taxing, but also on taking off and landing by AeroMACS. We carried out filed taxing experiments by AeroMACS and SWIM prototype system. The results showed the effectiveness of AeroMACS to access to SWIM. |
