(in English) One of technical issues of PAM-4 modulation by utilizing directly modulated lasers is distorted into a shew shape eye-diagram. To reduce this shew diagram, we proposed that orthogonal polarization-multiplexing of two NRZ signals with optical power ratio of 2:1 in directly modulated lasers generates skewless PAM-4 waveforms. This optical signal can be received as the PAM4 signal by a standard direct detection receiver. We achieved skewless 106-Gb/s/lane PAM-4 signals with multiplexing mutually orthogonal polarized 53-Gb/s NRZ signals emitted by directly modulated lasers. In addition, transmission over a 10-km SM fiber was demonstrated at 106-Gb/s PAM4 without the non-linearity compensation.
