Thermoacoustic phenomenon is an energy conversion phenomenon between heat and sound. Many researches have been reported to improve an energy conversion efficiency of thermoacoustic engines. As the one of the method of improvement way, a Heat Phase Adjuster (HPA) is proposed. In this report, the effect of the width of a HPA on energy conversion efficiency in the loop-tube-type thermoacoustic system is experimentally investigated. As a result, energy conversion efficiency changed with the width of a HPA and it is suggested that the optimal width of HPA exists. The effect of fixed the temperature peak position around HPA and changing the width of the HPA on energy conversion efficiency is also experimentally investigated. As a result, it is suggested that it is important to select the width of the HPA that it can input heat only to the rising slope of the particle velocity distribution of the target resonance mode. |
