Propagation Characteristic of V2V Communications in Right-Turn Accident Prevention Scenario

(in English) One of the scenarios that vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is highly expected to prevent car accident is right-turn accident prevention in intersection. In this scenario, although, propagation loss increase and thus reliability of V2V communication degrease because of shadowing by the large vehicle in the right-turn lane. In this paper, vehicle position – loss characteristic is analyzed by FDTD (Finite-Difference-Time-Domain) method and ray tracing to investigate the large vehicle shadowing in this scenario. As a result, the large vehicles lowered loss in 20dB at maximum, but reflected wave from the building improved loss in 15dB at maximum. Furthermore, the result of FDTD and that of ray tracing could be different in micro analysis area of V2V communication.
