Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The fifth Generation (5G) system utilizing millimeter wave (mmW) bands suffers from the problem of uncovered areas due to the high propagation loss and sensitivity to blockage. To provide Internet service for the users in the uncovered area, users in the coverage of the mmW Base Station (BS) can be used to provide interconnections with the help of Device-to-Device (D2D) communication. However, to establish the connection to the BS, serious signaling overhead for selecting the user suitable for D2D communication occurs, which degrades the system performance. Aiming at solving this problem, we proposed a scheme to decrease signaling messages and evaluated its performance using a single small cell in an immobile environment as initial in our previous work. However, to show applicability of the proposal in various environments, further evaluation is necessary. For that purpose, in this paper, we report the simulation result in a more general and reasonable scenario with the following 3 conditions: (1) multiple small cells, (2) mobile environment, and (3) different requested throughput levels. Simulation results show that the proposal is able to decrease signaling messages in this scenario.
