[Poster Presentation] MUSIC Algorithm Based on the Temporal DRR and Generalized Rayleigh Quotient under Reverberant Environment

(in English) Recently, direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation methods have been investigated for many applications, owing to the development of information and communication technology. The multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm is one of the best known subspace methods for DOA estimation. However, in the actual environment, the accuracy of the MUSIC algorithm for DOA estimation is degraded owing to reverberation. In this paper, we propose a novel DOA estimation method, which is based on the MUSIC algorithm but accounts for reverberation in the environment. We consider the time variant of temporal direct-to-reverberation ration (DRR) when speech is the sound source signal. From the generalized Rayleigh quotient of two covariance matrices of different DRR signals, we derive the property of desired subspace from the MUSIC algorithm under the reverberant environment. Then, using the subspace estimation based on this property, we can improve the DOA estimation accuracy of the MUSIC algorithm. The subspace is estimated with a constraint optimization algorithm for a subspace vector. We consider the three constraints for the subspace vector. In this paper, our proposed method is validated by experimentation in the real environment, and we explain how our proposed method can improve the accuracy of DOA estimation when compared to the conventional method. In addition, based on the constraint that the matrix of subspace vector is a full rank matrix, we found that our proposed method had the highest accuracy.
