Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we estimate the current source region on the surface of the cortex from the MEG signal.
Based on assumptions that the brain is modeled by concentric sphere, the current density of a source is constant within the region, and the source is distributed on the surface of the cortex, we derived a model that can express a magnetic field by a boundary integral follows from the Sarvas’ equation and the Stokes’ law.
In order to obtain a source region constrained to the cortex, discrete points of the cortex are made to correspond to the spherical surface, and region points are constrained to the spherical surface, and then region points on the cortex is obtained by the interpolation function.
In this paper, we focused on MEG response from the visual cortex of the occipital lobe, and we examine how the source region of the cortex changed when the magnitude of the visual stimulus was changed.
As a result, it was able to show that a source region on the cortex was spread correspond to the visual stimulus size.
