Light emitting diode (LED) lamps have been widely introduced in hospitals. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) with wireless medical telemeter by switching supply mounted in LED lamps has been reported. However, the evaluation method of it has not established. Electromagnetic noise radiated from LED lamps was also equal to the Gaussian noise when the narrow-band reception on wireless medical telemeter. Therefore, evaluation can be possible to use bit error rate (BER) or average power of electromagnetic field strength. Standing waves were observed at the upside LED lamp and its power supply cable. Electromagnetic field strength was decreased away from radiation source. We considered that evaluation of EMI with wireless medical telemeter in the clinical setting is possible to use results of BER or average power of electromagnetic field strength at each measurement point. |
