Optimization of window function in adaptive noise canceller

(in English) The adaptive noise canceller using the adaptive filter is known as a method for removing noise which disturbs signal measurements. In general, the adaptive noise canceller follows fluctuations of noise characteristics by forgetting data exponentially. Windowing is equivalent to forgetting. The tracking performance of the noise canceller depends on the used window function. However, in the field of the adaptive filter, although the influence of the exponential window on the tracking performance has been considered, the shape of the window function has not been considered in detail. In this paper, we analyze mathematically about the effect of the window function on the adaptive noise canceller. Based on the analysis results, we propose a method to optimize the window function. In the numerical experiments, we show an example of the optimum window and demonstrate that this window achieves higher tracking performance than the exponential window which is generally used.
