A Study on Directivity of Array Antenna with Random Excitation Error

(in English) Directivity of an array antenna with random excitation errors is degraded from that without errors. In conventional manner, the gain reduction of the array with random errors is estimated by an evaluation formula which is determined by only the mean squared errors of excitation amplitude and phase. In this paper, a novel evaluation formula is proposed to estimate the gain reduction more accurately than conventional one. The proposed formula is determined by the element spacing and element pattern of the array as well as the mean squared errors of excitation errors. Error analysis of an array with random excitation errors using electromagnetic simulation together is also presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed formula.
