| (in English) | The development of high speed mobile communication networks such as LTE (long term evolution) and the popularization of smartphones enable users to easily download large volumes of data. This causes a heavy consumption of communication resources, which would thus be a burden on available bandwidth. For solving this kind of problems, a data offloading method with wireless LAN access point (wireless AP) has been used to distribute traffic from mobile communication networks to fixed Internet connections. However, the method with wireless AP can only move the downloading paths but cannot reduce the overall download traffic. In this paper, we propose a neighbour cooperative data offloading system that reduces the overall download traffic by sharing data with direct communication between user terminals based on their location information. Moreover, we implement the proposed system on Android smartphones and clarify its efficiency through the experiments to download data in an actual environment. | |
