Investigation of Radio Interference among Heterogeneous Wireless Communication Technologies on 920 MHz Frequency Band -- Radio Interference between Wi-SUN and LoRaWAN --

(in English) With the wide spread of Internet of Things (IoT) Technologies, a large number of devices with wireless communication interfaces are expected to be deployed anywhere.
In particular, focusing on the wireless communication standard, the Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) is one of the promising way for IoT data collection.
However, multiple LPWA standards are independently developed currently.
Thus, different wireless communication systems utilizing the same radio frequency coexist in the same space, and interference between those systems will affect each performance.
In this work, we focus on Wi-SUN and LoRaWAN, and investigate the radio interference between them.
Since both technology use 920 MHz band in Japan, the radio interference inevitably occurs.
In this paper, we investigate the performance in case of (1) one communication pair (basic) and (2) multiple pairs (real environment).
As a result, we showed LoRaWAN with the low transmission rate brings severe radio interference to two technologies.
Finally, we showed that mitigating the radio interference needs; (1) LoRaWAN with high data rates
and (2) one or more channel isolation between both technologies.
