A Study on the Influence of Spatial Locality of Content Popularity in CCN with In-Network Guidance

(in English) CON (Content Oriented Network) has been proposed for efficient content distribution. In CON, routers are equipped with cache storages to store incoming contents. Leverage of these cache resources is one of the most important important technical issues in CON. From measurement in the Internet, content popularity is reported to have spatial and temporal locality.
In this paper, we make a brief study of the influence of spatial locality of content popularity on network control methods including cache control methods that do not take account of spatial locality. Simulation results reveal that Breadcrumbs, an off-path routing method with in-network guidance, conceals the influence of spacial locality on users and promotes efficient utilization of in-network cache resources.
