Research and development for 5G is accelerating toward the start of commercial services in 2020. In the future, it is also important to expand 5G for 2020 and beyond. To realize higher data rate and more capacity, utilization of higher frequency bands is required. However, since high frequency bands have heavy path-loss, the coverage tends to be limited. Moreover, it is required to maintain high data rate and large capacity when user is moving. In this trial, we use 39 GHz band and evaluate the transmission performance with long range and the mobility performance. Our test-bed has high beamforming gain by using lens antenna and it is able to switch beam to maintain SNR. We design frame structure for this trial, and the test-bed can select an appropriate beam within approximately 160 ms by using the designed frame structure. In this trial, we achieved 2.1 Gbit/s with the transmission distance of 1.8 km for the stationary case. Furthermore, we achieved 2.0 Gbit/s for the mobile case with a speed of 20 km/h and the transmission distance of 1.45 km. |
