An Evaluation of vCPE System with Open Source Software

(in English) Software defined network (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) are technologies which enable to provide network services more quickly and flexibly, and some network services using these technologies are launched. For realizing a new service-providing form with such technologies, we are studying virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) which provide functions of CPE as software on general-purpose servers. In this study, we composed a vCPE system with open source software (OSS), and clarified issues for OSS-based systems and considered how to cope with them. Moreover, we evaluated practical utility of OSS and performance of the OSS-based vCPE system. In this paper, we show the results of the aforementioned study and evaluations.
