Physical Cell ID Detection Time Performance Using NPSS and NSSS for NB-IoT

(in English) This paper presents physical cell ID (PCID) detection time performance using narrowband primary synchronization signal (NPSS) and narrowband secondary synchronization signal (NSSS) for narrowband (NB)-Internet-of-Things (IoT). Computer simulation results show that the almost minimum PCID detection time is achieved when the number of the cost functions for NPSS detection, N_NPSS, is 5, and that of the cost functions for computing the frequency offset providing G times 2PI, N_G, is 1, and that of the cost functions for detecting the NSSS, N_NSSS, is 1 for one-antenna transmission. We also show that the almost minimum PCID detection time is achieved with N_NPSS = 6, N_G = 2, and N_NSSS = 2 when using PVS transmit diversity. Finally, we show that the PCID detection probability of approximately 90% is achieved with the computation time of cost functions of 500 ms at the average received signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) of - 3 dB when using PVS transmit diversity.
