Fundamental Study on Flight of Drone Powered by Microwave Energy -- Rectenna Design Approach with Considering Fluctuation of Load and Input power --

(in English) The research on wireless power transmission using microwaves in recent years has been advanced greatly. The technology attracts a great deal of attention in power providing to mobile bodies such as electric cars, ships, drone and so on. In this report, focusing on the high efficiency of the rectifier circuit including the nonlinear element diode in the rectenna circuit, we’ll report that the efficiency was prevented from decreasing due to fluctuation of the load impedance and the input power of a certain range by introducing the DC-DC converter on the output side of the rectifier circuit. Moreover, we tried prototyping the 2.45 GHz band rectenna and succeeded in rotating the four motors of the lightweight drone using transmission power of about 53w in the METLAB anechoic chamber where the drone is far from the transmitter by 4 meters.
