We are developing a short and long ranges microwave wireless power transmission (WPT) system for a movable vehicle. We carried out basic experiments on a beam forming for such WPT application using the phased array antenna (PAA) system under near field condition. Output power of around 160 W can be radiated from the PAA that has 64 sub-array antenna elements and 64 digital phase shifters. Also, we are developing a phased array antenna for receiving of the pilot signals that is installed on the transmitting array antenna. We measured the basic characteristics of the receiving antenna for the pilot signals and evaluated an accuracy of the direction finding.
We will present the outline of the WPT application and results of preliminary experiments. |
