Fabrication and the Property of K0.45Na0.55NbO3 Based Ceramics

(in English) The purpose of this study is to improve the sinterability and properties of potassium sodium niobate (K0.45Na0.55NbO3) ceramics by solid solution of lithium and tantalum into K0.45Na0.55NbO3 ceramics. Piezoelectric constant d33 = 175 pC/N was obtained with (K0.45Na0.55)0.965Li0.035Nb0.8Ta0.2O3 ceramic covered with powder of the same composition and sintered at 1150°C. The piezoelectric constant was higher than d33 = 161 pC/N of (K0.45Na0.55)0.965Li0.035Nb0.8Ta0.2O3 ceramic covered with K0.5Na0.5NbO3 powder containing more K than the specimen. From these result, it was confirmed that not only the composition of the sample but also the composition of the powder covering the sample (green body) during sintering influences the property of the sample.
