Cooperative operation of a private cellular network and public cellular networks

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose to adopt cellular protocol to construct a private wireless system within an organization and call the system “a private cellular network (PCN).” It is possible to alleviate complicated interoperation problems between the local network and the public network that rely on inter-protocol roaming. As the approaches to construct PCN, we propose a method of constructing a large capacity wireless system over cellular protocol for private network only with dense small cells like the existing wireless local area network. We discuss the issues such as roaming between the PCN and the public cellular network and fast handover, and propose several solutions.
