Comparison of Transmission Performance for 32APSK over TWTA and LTWTA

(in English) 4K/8K test broadcasting for satellite have been started since August 2016. 4K/8K broadcasting services for satellite will be started in 2018. A transmission system of 4K/8K broadcasting services is ISDB-S3 that adopted 16APSK and 32APSK as new modulation schemes. The 16APSK signal for ISDB-S3 will be used in 2018. Although the transmission capacities of 32APSK are increased higher, non-linear distortion by satellite transponder becomes greatly affected. In general, the non-linear distortion by satellite transponder varies greatly when a linearizer is used. In this study, we report on an experiment comparing the reception performances for 32APSK over a satellite channel when the linearizer is used or not.
