(in English) Structures that are built temporarily mainly for supporting purposes are affected sensitively by unpredicted rain fall or other environmental impact. To monitor the strain of structures such as retaining walls, the detection mechanism needs to be simple enough to be readable by workers in field. We propose a visual detection of strain using polymeric optical fiber using fluorescent dye pairs.
