Body area networks (BAN) are categorized into two groups which are implant BAN and wearable BAN. In this study, we tried to improve their communication performance. In implant BAN, we considered to apply the ultra wide band transmit-receive diversity system to capsule endoscope for high quality image transmission. In this study, we evaluated the communication performance with a living animal experiment and a computer simulation. These results show the effectiveness of the transmit-receive diversity system for the implant BAN. Additionally, we designed the antenna for localization system of the wanderer in wearable BAN. In this study, we designed the antenna which can decrease the performance degradation by the human body, and evaluated the antenna performance in the city area. This study demonstrated that our developed antenna has better performance than the current commercial antenna. |
