Zn(Al1-xGax)2O4 phosphor for applications as a light source in sterilization and skin treatment have been investigated. The goal is to control the emitting wavelength by replacing the Al site of zinc aluminate having a spinel structure with Ga. Zn(Al1-xGax)2O4 phosphor were prepared by a solid phase synthesis method, and their crystal structures and luminescent properties were evaluated. From the measurement of X-ray diffraction, a single phase formation was confirmed in the sample fired at 1300 oC, and it was obtained that the diffraction peak shifted to the lower angle side as the Ga ratio increased. From cathodoluminescent properties, ultraviolet emission around 250 nm of ZnAl2O4 was obtained, and the emission wavelength was shifted to longer wavelength as the Ga ratio increased. It was shown that the emission spectrum became narrower due to solid solution formation and that the emission peak could be shifted with Ga ratio. |
