Effect of the Object Inside a Tunnel in the Radio Wave Propagation of a Subway Tunnel

(in English) Radio wave propagation measurements were taken inside a subway tunnel. One measurement was taken immediately after the tunnel's construction and another after the start of commercial operations. These two measurements were performed at the same location. For the second measurement, various installations required for train operation were fixed to the subway tunnel wall. These installations were not present for the first measurement; thus, we compared the measurement results between two time points to examine the effects of the installations on the reflection of radio waves on the tunnel wall. Immediately after the tunnel's construction and after the start of commercial operations, the attenuation constant in the non line-of-sight section are 0.03 dB/m and 0.65 dB/m, respectively. In addition, attenuation constants in the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band, using an omnidirectional antenna and a directional antenna for each tunnel section, are also shown.
