A Study on TCP Fairness among Modern TCPs including TCP BBR

(in English) Proposals of various fast TCP algorithms raised an issue of performance fairness among TCP algorithms. In 2016, TCP BBR was proposed. In our previous work, we have investigated the fairness between TCP BBR and other popular TCP algorithms and showed that the fairness is low in the common queue managing methods such as TailDrop and CoDel. In this paper, we evaluate fairness with the dynamic method based on CoDel. The dynamic method actively drops packets of the bandwidth-consuming connections. We then show that it can improve the fairness and discuss its issues.
