A Fair Water-Filling Power Assignment for Macro-Femto HetNets

(in English) In this paper, our main motivation is to determine a transmission power assignment for each femtocell user (FU) such that the allocation achieves optimal utility max-min fairness, while satisfying an interference temperature constraint at the macrocell base station (MBS) side. We provide a heuristical water-filling algorithm with little computational overhead to obtain the optimal solutions. Numerical results show that the max-min fair power assignment gives the FU with the worst channel condition the largest possible power allocation, without wasting any network resources.
