A Collaborative-Task Assignment Algorithm for Disaster Recovery

(in English) Once a major disaster occurs, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in 2011 and the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake in 1995, it causes much damage to human life and property. And many reconstruction work (e.g., rubble removal, building, and more) will arise. Many of these tasks are dangerous and hard labor. So it is impractical to assign one task to one worker. Although crowdsourcing is used to efficiently accomplish many tasks, there is no existing assignment method for crowdsourcing that allows multiple people to work collaboratively. Therefore, we improved this point, defined collaborative tasks to perform one work by multiple people at the same time, and proposed a task assignment method that can be used actually at the site of disaster reconstruction. We also analyzed and verified that the proposed algorithm actually operates efficiently by simulation using random graphs and real trace data of mobile devices.
