Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report introduces a new positioning protocol which leverages the uplink MU-MIMO capability of the 802.11ax WLAN to achieve cm level indoor localization. Being a Time of Flight (ToF) based system, the proposed protocol is robust against walls and other indoor obstacles compared to RSSI based systems. The proposed protocol is completely asynchronous which greatly reduces the required bandwidth needed for high accuracy positioning system. In order to improve accuracy, we employ an active positioning protocol where uplink frames are used to supplement downlink frames through diversity combining.
