Estimation of Three-Dimensional Received Power Distribution Using Unmanned Aircraft

(in English) We consider wireless data transfer between UAs (Unmanned Aircrafts) in the air and ground nodes. The received powers of wireless signals are affected by a shadowing effect due to obstacles such as mountain terrains and buildings on wireless links between the UAs and the ground nodes as well as the path loss effects. In this article, we propose an estimation scheme for the spatial distribution of the received power. In the proposed scheme, the target three-dimensional region is divided into small regions, and the received power distribution is represented by a tensor whose elements correspond to the received powers in small regions. UAs measure received powers on their trajectories and the spatial distribution is estimated with Low Rank Tensor Completion under an assumption that the distribution is spatially correlated. We validate the proposed scheme with simulation experiments.
