Design of Broadband Transition between Hollow Waveguide and Substrate Integrated Waveguide using Cutoff Backshort in Millimeter-wave Band

(in English) We have designed a broadband transition between hollow waveguide and substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) using cutoff back-short in millimeter-wave band. The bandwidth of the conventional transition was narrow because the higher order mode generates near the window on the SIW to the hollow waveguide. Broadband transition between hollow waveguide and SIW can be designed by replacing the post-wall to metal wall for cut-off back short fabricated by router. The geometrical parameters of the transition were optimized by using electromagnetic simulation of finite element method.
