This paper discusses performance of single carrier block transmission using frequency domain equalization (FDE) for acoustic communications. Single carrier block transmission performs high multipath resistance property and superior PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio) property with a little arithmetic quantity. At first, computer simulation results shows that single carrier block transmission employing FDE degrades receiver sensitivity while it mitigates degradution due to delay spread. Next, this paper discusses the method to evaluate performance of single carrier block transmission in land acoustic communication environment by offline processing using an electronic audio device. Finaly, according to the result of experiment in actual environment, single carrier block transmission employing FDE has superior property in acoustic communication environment with large delay spread. |
