Blockchain Technology, which is a type of distributed ledger, is comprised of unchangeable and digitally recorded data in packages called blocks. There is a high expectation of a coming revolution, not only in the financial industry but also in non-financial industries. In this paper, traceability system built by blockchain technology, which ensures the reliability of agricultural products against continuous food fraud investigations, will be described. In addition, a case report of this traceability system, applied to the distribution of organic agricultural products originated in Aya-town in Miyazaki prefecture, will be discussed in the context of a history of the blockchain. |
