[Invited Talk] High-efficiency microwave rectifier with wide incident power range based on impedance/resistance compression network

(in English) Rectifier is a non-linear circuit of wireless power transfer (WPT) system. With the change of incident power, the input impedance of the rectifier varies and the power conversion efficiency degrades, leading to limited incident power range with high conversion efficiency. In this paper, a dual-band transmission line resistance compression network (TLRCN) is introduced and applied to the rectifier design to extend its input power range at two frequencies. For validation, two dual-band rectifiers based on the proposed TLRCN with different frequency spacing (Δf) are designed, fabricated, and measured. One works at 0.915 GHz/ 2.45 GHz (Δf = 1.535 GHz) and the other at 1.80 GHz/ 2.40 GHz (Δf = 0.6 GHz). Besides, their counterparts without the dual-band TLRCN are also fabricated for performance comparison. The measured results show that the proposed dual-band TLRCN can be used to extend the input power range without decreasing the maximum power conversion efficiencies.
