Demonstration of High Speed Reading in Ferroelectric Data Storage Using Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 Recording Medium

(in English) High-speed readout tests were conducted using a hard disk drive (HDD) type ferroelectric data storage test system based on scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy (SNDM). Prior to the readout tests, periodically inverted domain stripe pattern was prepared on Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 [PZT] recording medium with the pitch of 2 ?m. The readout test was conducted at the rotation speed of 20,000 rpm, and a readout waveform with a bit rate of 10Mbps was clearly observed.
