(in English) Recently, IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local-Area Network (WLAN) has been widely used due to the flexibility and cost advantages. In WLAN, the proper channel assignment to the access points (APs) is very important to improve throughput performances of hosts by reducing interferences from different APs. Unfortunately, in IEEE 802.11 WLAN, the number of orthogonal channels is very limited, where the adjacent channels are partially overlapped with each other. In this paper, for popular IEEE 802.11n WLANs, we study the throughput estimation model under partially overlapping channels (POCs) with extensive throughput measurements, and extend the channel assignment algorithm for the APs using this model. The effectiveness of adopting POCs to improve throughputs is confirmed through simulations in a simple topology with two rooms.
