Digital watermarking method by encoder using neural network

(in English) We propose a digital watermarking method by encoder using a neural network.The learned neural network can perform as both an encoder from an original image and a watermark to a stego-image, and a decoder from the stego-image to the watermark. The coefficients of discrete cosine transform (DCT) of the original image and watermarks are fed into the encoder, and then the neural network is trained so as to output the coefficients of the original one.The output of the encoder is fed into the decoder, and then it is trained so as to output watermarks. By using trained neural network, less degraded stego-images, from which watermarks could be extracted, could be generated. In the proposed method, since robustness against attacks depends on parameters of the neural network, we have to settle the parameters. The parameters were fixed by results of both the image quality of the stego-image and bit error rate (BER) after JPEG compression. As a result, under the suitable parameters, when the stego-image is compressed with over $70$ of $Q$-value, the watermarks can be extracted with less than $0.01$ of average BER. Moreover, the image quality PSNR can be achieved at least $35~{rm dB}$.
