Reference Solutions for EM Time-Frequency Analysis -- Case of Dielectric Cylinders --

(in English) In computational electromagnetics, reliability of computational solutions is one of the most important issues. To validate accuracy of computational methods and commercial software, rigorous Mie series solutions for spheres and cylinders are considered. In this paper, we derive the exact solutions of various dielectric cylinders in complex frequency domain and obtain time-domain responses using numerical inversion Laplace transform. Time-domain responses for various incident pulses and frequency dispersion models are introduced. Our solutions are highly reliable and they can be considered as reference solutions for checking accuracy of various electromagnetic solvers.
