Analysis of Ultrasonic Scattering Characteristics for Diabetics Focusing on Red Blood Cell Aggregation

(in English) The frequency dependence of the ultrasonic backscattering power varies due to the scatterer size. However, the ultrasonic scattering power spectrum of the received RF signal includes the device dependent frequency properties. Therefore, for excluding the device dependent frequency properties, we acquired the backscattered waves before and after the stop of blood flow from the intravascular lumen and took the ratio of total scattering power from each power spectrum. For 11 subjects with diabetes, the relationship between the total scattering power increment and the blood data examined on the same day was obtained, and the degree of red blood cell aggregation was evaluated.
